Avid annuncia la nuova versione di Torq, la 2.0 con 4 decks virtuali, nuove funzioni, nuovi effetti ed il supporto nativo di alcuni importanti controllers.
Avid, dopo mesi di incertezza per i vecchi utenti M-Audio, rilancia il progetto Torq con una nuova versione del software realizzata da un nuovo team di sviluppo. Il software è stato completamente ridisegnato per supportare 4 decks virtuali. I punti di cue salvabili sono 6, c'è la possibilità di controllo via vinili e cd timecode, key lock garantito dal motore élastique di Z-Plane. Gli effetti disponibili sono 16 e se ne possono associare fino a 4 per ogni canale, sia per quanto riguarda gli effetti forniti dal software, sia i VST realizzati da terze parti. Il sampler ha adesso ben 18 banchi ed i sample vengono messi a tempo automaticamente. Torq 2.0 è interamente mappabile su qualsiasi consolle Midi, ma i controller supportati nativamente sono, oltre a X-Ponent: # Numark NS7 # Vestax VCI-300 # Allen & Heath Xone 4D # Allen & Heath Xone 1D # Denon DN-HC4500 # Denon DN-S3700 Torq 2.0 sarà disponibile dall'otto febbraio al prezzo di 49,99 dollari se si ha acquistato una scheda audio Torq Connectiv o un controller X-Ponent fino al 13 gennaio 2011, acquistando da oggi questi prodotti fino al 30 giugno 2011 Torq 2.0 sarà gratuito.
