Chicago's Derrick Carter has long been a name steeped in House music mythology, a true original and a fierce DJ to boot.
His project with long-time collaborator Chris Nazuka from the mid 90's entitled Sound Patrol has always had a cult following and this long lost EP from 1994 is now finally seeing the light of day again!'The music EP', released on Carter's Organico label still sounds totally streets ahead today, a sublime 4 tracker existing in the deepest recesses of the dance-floor.
Beautifully deep constructed house music filled with emotion and soul, 'The music EP' ticks a lot of boxes. In fact, it'd be surprising if this record ever leaves your bag.
So many moods are contained within it's grooves - melancholy, narcotic delusional happiness, sheer abandonment, it's all here. Essential is an understatement.
