For almost two decades Dave Paton has been dredging the recesses of his mind for electronic inspiration. The findings have been fantastical, freakish and formidable; all ways of describing his latest outing. "The Great Pretender" straddles electro and techno, staggers between ambient and IDM and swaggers to its own bawdy beat.
